The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is proud to acknowledge the continued support of Sol Barbados following the successful completion of the Fuel Up and Give to the QEH campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of the Barbadian public, an impressive BDS $167,803 was raised — surpassing the original target and making it possible to donate four blood gas machines, double the number initially planned.

Officially handed over on April 1, 2026, these critical devices will strengthen care delivery in key clinical areas, including the Accident and Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Operating Theatres, by supporting faster and more accurate clinical decision-making.

QEH Chief Executive Officer Neil Clark welcomed the donation, noting that the additional machines will directly support some of the hospital’s most critical care areas, particularly the Accident and Emergency Department.

“This donation strengthens our ability to support timely diagnosis and treatment in critical care settings and reflects the value of strong partnerships in helping us improve patient care,” Mr Clark said.

Dr. Anne-Marie Cruickshank, Head of the Accident and Emergency Department, added that the machines are a valuable addition to the hospital’s clinical resources, particularly in fast-paced environments where reliability and low maintenance are essential to informed clinical decisions.

Sol Barbados described the donation as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare initiatives that deliver meaningful impact, with the campaign made possible through contributions from motorists across the island.

This latest donation marks another important milestone in the growing partnership between QEH and Sol Barbados, with total contributions now exceeding $350,000. In addition to equipment support, the initiative also extended into community outreach through free health screenings held across the island.

The Hospital extends sincere thanks to Sol Barbados and the people of Barbados for their continued support, which helps strengthen QEH’s ability to deliver timely, high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.
