Ear, nose and throat (ENT) physicians are trained in the surgical and medical treatment of conditions of the ears, nose, throat, head and neck.

The Ears

  • Hearing loss
  • Ear infections
  • Balance disorders
  • Ear noise (tinnitus)

The Nose

  • Injuries to the nose
  • Deformities of the nose
  • Adenoidectomy
  • Sinus infections
  • Seasonal allergies (hay fever)
  • Tumours of the nose and sinuses

The Throat

  • Inflammations of the throat (tonsillectomy)
  • Laryngitis
  • Snoring
  • Voice and swallowing disorders
  • Tumours of the throat and larynx

Head and Neck

  • Swelling of the neck
  • Cysts
  • Thyroid disorders and tumours (cancerous and non-cancerous) of lymph and salivary glands
  • Head and neck tumours

Services provided include :

IN-PATIENT Services

  • Operations involving the ears, nose and throat.
  • Operations involving fractures of facial bones and mandible.
  • Medical management of ear ,nose and throat diseases.
  • Hearing Screening tests for babies born at the QEH.
  • Speech Therapy for all patients admitted to the QEH.

OUT-PATIENT Services

  • Operations involving the ears, nose and throat.
  • Medical management of ear, nose and throat diseases.
  • Audiology and Speech Therapy services in terms of testing and rehabilitation both at the QEH and the Children’s Development Centre.
