UWI Cave Hill Donates Gifts to QEH Paediatrics Ward

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Paediatrics Ward recently received a heartwarming donation of gifts from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus. The initiative, spearheaded by the university’s staff and students, aimed to bring joy to children undergoing treatment at the hospital.

In a brief ceremony, QEH CEO Neil Clark expressed gratitude on behalf of the hospital, stating, “Clearly, it’s not a good time to be in hospital for the children, so it’s really thoughtful, kind, and considerate of you to go through the effort of hosting the event and collecting these presents.”

Professor Winston Moore, Deputy Principal of UWI Cave Hill, highlighted the community effort behind the donation. “These gifts represent a donation from the entire UWI Cave Hill campus. We had a fundraising bazaar earlier this month and collected presents from our staff and students. We’re glad to donate these to the kids here at the QEH,” he shared.

The collaboration between UWI Cave Hill and the QEH exemplifies the spirit of community care, bringing comfort and happiness to young patients during challenging times.
