The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is proud to announce a significant partnership with International Hope Canada, an organization dedicated to improving global healthcare through the donation of medical equipment and supplies. As part of this collaboration, Dr. Bram Ramjiawan, a representative of International Hope Canada, recently visited Barbados to deliver a generous donation of cardiac catheterization laboratory supplies to support the Department of Cardiovascular Services at QEH.
This donation will enhance our capacity to provide high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular conditions and underscores International Hope Canada’s commitment to advancing healthcare worldwide.
Promoting Research and Innovation at QEH
During his visit, Dr. Ramjiawan delivered a thought-provoking keynote presentation titled The Importance of Research and Innovation in a Clinical Care Institution during the Internal Medicine Grand Rounds on Monday, January 20. This session was well-received by the Departments of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Services and was attended by junior doctors and medical students.
Dr. Ramjiawan’s presentation highlighted the pivotal role of research in advancing clinical care and inspired trainees to explore the intersection of research and innovation in improving patient outcomes.
Fostering Collaboration Through Education
In addition to the Grand Rounds session, Dr. Ramjiawan hosted a successful webinar organized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados (HSFB). The event brought together personnel from QEH and HSFB, fostering enthusiastic discussions and exploring avenues for future collaboration to further enhance healthcare delivery in Barbados.
A Shared Commitment to Excellence
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bram Ramjiawan and International Hope Canada for their continued support and dedication to improving healthcare services in Barbados. The donation of cardiac catheterization lab supplies, coupled with the emphasis on research and innovation, exemplifies the shared vision of both organizations in driving excellence in clinical care.
We look forward to building on this partnership to continue advancing healthcare for the benefit of our patients and the wider community.
