QEH Pharmacy Begins Transition to New Digital System; Temporary Delays Possible
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital wishes to advise the public that the Pharmacy Department will begin transitioning to a new digital platform from Monday, June 22, 2026, as part of the implementation of the Universal National Health Information System (UNHIS).
This important upgrade represents the first step in a broader transformation of healthcare delivery in Barbados, helping to improve patient care, enhance efficiency, and support the modernization of health records and services across the healthcare system.
As our pharmacy teams begin working with the new system, members of the public may experience temporary delays in service while staff adapt to the platform and workflows are refined.
We understand that these adjustments may cause some inconvenience and kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this transition period. The move to a digital environment is an important investment in the future of healthcare and will ultimately support a better experience for patients.
For questions or assistance, please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at 536-4800 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital thanks the public for its continued support as we enter this new era of healthcare in Barbados.
