QEH Encourages Mask-Wearing in Clinical Spaces

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is reminding patients and visitors to wear a mask in clinical spaces as part of efforts to maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Masks should be worn in clinical areas, waiting rooms and corridors, when in close proximity to others, and by anyone experiencing a cough, cold or other respiratory symptoms.

Wearing a mask can help reduce the spread of colds, influenza and other respiratory illnesses while providing additional protection for vulnerable patients, children and older persons.

People who are elderly, pregnant, living with a chronic condition or have a weakened immune system are especially encouraged to wear a mask for their own protection.

The QEH thanks members of the public for doing their part to protect themselves, other visitors, hospital staff and the institution’s most vulnerable patients.
