Message from the CEO: Working Together with Our A&E Nurses

Following discussions with nursing staff and their representatives yesterday evening, nurses in the Accident and Emergency Department returned to their duties. I would like to reassure the public that emergency services are continuing.
Today, I was invited to meet again with our A&E nurses to discuss further their concerns regarding salaries and working conditions. I welcomed the opportunity to hear directly from them and to better understand the challenges they are experiencing.
We had an open and constructive discussion, during which I reaffirmed my commitment to working together with our nursing colleagues to address their concerns and identify practical solutions.
Our nurses work under considerable pressure, and I recognise and appreciate their dedication to caring for our patients.
Their views are important. We are one team, and I firmly believe that listening to our staff and working together is essential to improving both their working environment and the care we provide to the public.
I want all our staff to know that my door is always open. They can contact me directly at any time to share their concerns, ideas or suggestions.
We remain committed to supporting our staff and delivering safe, compassionate care to the people of Barbados.
Every Patient Matters, Every Staff Member Counts.
