Installation of Storm Shutters at QEH

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is undertaking essential upgrade works from Monday, 3rd February to Friday, 2nd May 2025, to install new storm shutters across selected sections of the hospital.This project, generously funded by the Clara Lionel Foundation aims to enhance the hospital’s resilience to severe weather events and will include electrical and construction work to support the new shutters.

The affected areas include:

• Operating Theatre
• Medical Intensive Care Unit
• Obstetrics Department
• Surgical Intensive Care Unit

During this period, patients, visitors, and staff may experience temporary disruptions, including noise, dust, and scaffolding in the work zones. We are making every effort to minimize any inconvenience and ensure critical services remain unaffected. Safety measures will be in place to protect all individuals in the hospital.
