QEH Advises Temporary AED Lockdown Has Been Lifted

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital advises that the temporary lockdown of the Accident and Emergency Department (AED) has been lifted and normal access has resumed.

The precautionary measure was implemented in collaboration with the Barbados Police Service following a shooting incident, as part of established protocols to ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors.

The QEH thanks patients, visitors and the wider public for their patience, understanding and cooperation during this period. We also acknowledge the support of our healthcare teams and law enforcement partners in maintaining a safe environment while essential services continued.

The Hospital remains committed to providing timely, safe and compassionate care to all who access our services.
