Increased Activity at Accident and Emergency Department
The Accident and Emergency Department (AED) is currently experiencing a high volume of patients, mainly due to an increase in respiratory illnesses, and complications from noncommunicable diseases.
Please Note:
- Life-threatening conditions will continue to be treated immediately under the AED’s triage system.
- Less urgent concerns may experience longer waiting times.
- If you are feeling unwell and need guidance, please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS/Help Desk) at: 536-4800
(Available via regular or WhatsApp calls, from 8:00 AM to 12 midnight)
They will provide an initial assessment and advise you on the next steps for care.
Alternative Care Options
- To help reduce waiting times, patients are encouraged to consider:
- 24-Hour Clinic at Winston Scott Polyclinic (Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael)
- Your private physician, if available.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to manage this surge and reduce delays.
