The People’s Republic of China has done it again! On Monday, June 7, 2021, the Government of Barbados (GoB) and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) received a donation of critical medical equipment from The People’s Republic of China (PROC) valued at approximately $110,000 USD. This is the 5th such donation and brings the PROC’s total philanthropic footprint to the QEH to more than $1,000,000 USD.

As such, on behalf of the Government and citizens of Barbados, and the Board, management, staff and patients of the QEH, we would like to extend a warm, heartfelt thank you to the Government of the People’s Republic of China and its citizens for their continued partnership and dedication in supporting the people of Barbados. The donation of medical equipment and provision of Chinese medical expertise in undermanned areas will go a long way towards building capacity here at the QEH.
