A Tribute to the Diabetes Czar of the Caribbean

#TeamQEH joins with the Jordan family to honour the memory of the late, Dr. Oscar Jordan. Director of Medical Services, Mr. Anthony Harris remembers Dr. Jordan as “a true legend and a pioneer at this hospital, especially when you’re speaking about his contribution in the fight against diabetes in Barbados and the region. The model of the Diabetes Centre in Warrens was his brainchild.” The Jordan family donated this beautifully hand-crafted bench which now adorns the hallway just outside of the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). It’s the place he worked to save the lives of many, and also the place where he spent his last days with his family. The bench is a welcomed addition to provide seating for families who have loved ones receiving treatment in the MICU.
