New Chief Executive Officer joins QEH

Neil Clark
Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr. Neil Clark to the position of Chief Executive Officer with effect from April 02, 2024.

Mr. Clark emerged as the leading candidate from an original list of 84 candidates and after a rigorous selection process. This process included representative sampling of management and staff input into a profiling of their expectations of a CEO, and psychometric leadership and emotional intelligence competencies assessments of the twelve candidates who were shortlisted. Of those twelve, five were interviewed. The competency-based interviews were informed by the results of the job profiling.

Mr. Clark holds a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Organizational Development and Consultancy and brings 30 years of health care planning and senior management experience to his new role. He has a track record as a results driven healthcare leader with a focus on patient-centric strategies and outcomes. His body of work includes transforming and revitalizing healthcare operations, and driving service improvements across primary healthcare centers and regulatory bodies as well as major hospitals.

He has served as the Chief Operations Officer of a large multi-site 1000 bed and 8000 staff hospital and community care provider in the United Kingdom. In his most recent posting he first served as Abu Dhabi’s Senior Advisor to the Department of Health. On promotion to Executive Director of Health Care Planning, Mr. Clark was the lead on Health Care planning, and the development of Primary Care, Mental Health, Non-Acute Care, Emergency Care Centres, and Centres of Excellence. With the advent of COVID-19, he also took the lead for the Health Care Planning Response to COVID, supporting Abu Dhabi in receiving a number of international awards for Best COVID Response.

Mr. Clark has been recognized for aligning outcome values with a commitment to quality patient care, repositioning organizations for strength through visionary leadership, and implementing targeted solutions to enhance health care capacity and delivery.

The Board of Directors welcomes Mr. Clark to the leadership of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and looks forward a strong collaborative relationship in the quest to deliver a world-class healthcare service experience to Barbados.
