Donation of Medical Equipment made by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados has made another generous donation to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). On Friday, May 17, 2019, Chinese Ambassador Yan Xiusheng officially presented a donation of medical equipment and consumables, inclusive of a portable ultrasound device, a vital signs monitor, and a thyroid function checker to the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Cheryl Alleyne, who accepted the donation on behalf of the Government of Barbados.

Today’s donation of medical equipment and consumables valued at USD $125,000.00 marks the third such donation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Government of Barbados. In total, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China has donated approximately USD $525, 000.00 in medical equipment and consumables to QEH.

The donation ceremony concluded with the signing of the official Handover Certificate by Ms. Qu Ying, Economic Commercial Cousellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados on behalf of the Government of China; and Ms. Louise Bobb, Chief Executive Officer (Ag) of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on behalf of the QEH and the Government of Barbados.
