COVID-19 : REDUCTION OF OUT-PATIENT CLINICS AND CANCELLATION OF ELECTIVE SURGERIES

In response to the Government of Barbados’ escalation to Stage One of the COVID-19 National Response Plan, the public is asked to note that effective Wednesday, March 18, all elective surgical procedures will be postponed. As such, only urgent and emergent procedures will be conducted. This decision is a temporary measure to ensure the availability of critical care beds should the need arise.

Additionally, in accordance with the pronouncement that all public gatherings are to be minimized, effective Wednesday, March 18, all out-patient clinics will be reduced. Patients considered to be urgent and emergent will be contacted by the Medical Records Department and given specific appointment dates and times to reduce the number of patients presenting to the out-patients’ clinics.

The Board of Management sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused and looks forward to your cooperation as we continue to strive towards ‘Getting Better Together’.
