8 Huntleigh SR2 Digital Doppler Machines donated to the QEH
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is now home to 8 new Huntleigh SR2 Digital Doppler Machines thanks to a generous donation from the Barbados Canada Foundation (BCF).
Established in August 2013, the Barbados Canada Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to promoting health by providing medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and public health facilities in Barbados for the public’s benefit and use. It is with this mandate in mind that the BCF identified the QEH as a strategic partner, and has pledged its continued support to meeting its equipment needs. In its efforts to raise funds, the FCB holds several fundraising events including an Annual Bring on the Spring Event and Annual BCF Golf Tournament and Dinner.
The donation was officially handed over to Mr. Anthony Harris, Director of Medical Services of the QEH, by Dr. Barbara Trieloff-Deane, on behalf of BCF on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Used to screen the fetal heart at all stages of pregnancy through to labour, these digital dopplers were immediately put to good use by the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team to care for Barbados’ soon to be newest citizens.
