  • Training

The Human Resources Department (HRD) identified, at the start of 2010, a number of goals and activities which are viewed as crucial to the development of staff and health care services. Among these are the review of several policies and procedures, many of which have already been realized and are soon to be introduced. The members of the HRD remain enthusiastic in sharing these new initiatives with you – its valued staff and customers. We are particularly excited at the opportunity to assist the hospital team in achieving continuous growth, improvement and motivation as we seek to afford every possible opportunity for enjoyable learning, development and success.
Principal among our initiatives are the host of staff developmental activities planned by the Training and Development Section of the HRD. Heads of departments/sections have received their current period training schedules and will now be busy with the task of allocating staff to the various training sessions inclusive of:

    • Safety and Health
    • HIV/STI Training
    • Supervisory Management
    • Excellence in Customer Service
    • Hospital Infection Prevention & Control
    • Fire Prevention & Control
    • Anger Management & Conflict Resolution

These sessions have been specially and thoroughly planned to include all areas relevant to the respective disciplines and we have already received some very positive feedback from appreciative participants who have been thoroughly enjoying the interactive, informative sessions. The HRD wishes to encourage Department Heads to take full advantage of the sessions planned through the early submission of staff nominations and by ensuring the attendance of their staff at assigned courses/seminars. We remain open to your general suggestions and comments and remind you to submit any queries regarding the training schedule to the members of the Training Section.
